Brief Description

The Google Ph.D. fellowship program recognizes and supports exceptional graduate students and research professionals conducting stellar research in computer science and other related disciplines. This scholarship targets scholars who seek to influence the future of technology. This scholarship category caters to scholars from Africa, India and Southeast Asia. The fellowship is typically awarded to graduate students with a keen interest in algorithms, optimizations and markets, health research, mobile computing, machine learning, machine-human interaction, quantum networking and other related fields.

  • Monetary award of $30,000 to cover stipend and other research related activities including travel expenses

  • 3-year fellowship

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate or Master’s students may apply for the fellowship

  • Undergraduate and Master’s applicants must be enrolled as full-time students at any African, Indian or South-Eastern university.

  • Professionals who apply must be affiliated with an organisation registered in Africa, India or Southeast Asia.

  • Grant of the fellowship does not mean that the awardee has been admitted to study PhD at the African university. The awardee must also apply for the PhD program at the university where they wish to study.

  • Student applicants must be enrolled in the full-time PhD for the duration of the award or they will forfeit the award.

The deadline for applying for this fellowship is April 21, 2021
