Some courses, specifically in the sciences/technology field, allow direct entry into PhD programs. Some of these programs start with a masters (which will be converted to the first and/or second year of the PhD). Your best bet is to conduct research on whether the direct PhD route is available in your choice of school. If you are unsure, make sure you email the admissions committee/ administrator of your chosen program.
