Summary

The Canada International Forum in Digital Soft Power is organized by the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (CCCD), in collaboration with regional and international partners.


The “Digital Soft Power and Cultural Diplomacy in the Age of Algorithms” forum serves as a high-level, interdisciplinary platform that convenes policymakers, thought leaders, digital strategists, scholars, and cultural actors to critically examine the evolving intersections between technology, culture, and diplomacy.


The forum aims to foster collaborative discourse on the ethical, strategic, and geopolitical dimensions of digital influence—while exploring innovative pathways for promoting intercultural understanding and shaping a more inclusive and dialogic global order.

  • 20 Partially Funded Participants (accommodation + forum access only)


Eligibilities

To be considered for the Canada International Forum in Digital Soft Power, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (There is no upper age limit – both emerging and experienced professionals are welcome).

  • Be

  • studying or working in fields such as:

  • International Relations, Communication, Cultural Studies, Diplomacy, Technology, Social Sciences, Media, Arts, or related disciplines.

  • Individuals with experience or interest in digital platforms, public diplomacy, or cross-cultural initiatives are especially encouraged to apply.

  • Be able to communicate effectively in English at a conversational level.

  • Demonstrated interest in topics such as digital diplomacy, soft power, cultural exchange, or global communication.

  • A brief motivation statement is required as part of the application

  • Applicants should show a willingness to share their experiences and apply forum insights in their communities or professional fields.

  • Participation in any local or international forums, cultural projects, tech-based initiatives, or volunteer work.

  • Engagement with social media campaigns, digital storytelling, or public advocacy work
