Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarship Programme in Germany is for the promotion of young talent and has been one of the founding principles of the FES. The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarship students receive a monthly base amount of 934 EUR. In addition, costs for health insurance are funded, and scholars with a child receive an allowance of 160 EUR per month. With the foundation of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in 1925, the first scholarships were awarded to particularly talented young individuals from a working-class milieu who were taking an active part in the young democracy of the Weimar Republic.

Eligibilities
The eligibility criteria include:
Required Languages: English / German
Eligible Countries: Gifted students from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe
The candidates’ aptitudes and personalities show excellent promise for an academic or professional career.
Admission to study or enrolment at a state or state-recognized higher-education institution in Germany
Sufficient knowledge of German, although the courses are held in English.
Candidates are expected to show commitment to the values of social democracy.
