Summary:

DW is looking for creative people, who are interested in a comprehensive, high quality journalism program with an international broadcaster and who want to help shape the journalism of the future.


The 18-month paid journalism program is considered one of the most prestigious of its kind in Germany – and beyond.


The topics are explored in seminars and workshops at DW’s editorial offices in Bonn and Berlin, along with DW’s regional bureaus across the globe.



Eligibilities:

To be considered for the DW International Journalism Traineeship, you must:

  • be a native speaker of one of DW’s languages with excellent English and good German language skills, or a native English speaker with good German language skills, or a native German speaker with excellent English language skills

  • have completed a university degree, a college degree, or an apprenticeship


    (especially with a background in technology/IT, science, politics, economics or law)

    • DW is also looking for applicants from other fields, whether you are an IT specialist, lawyer, physician, mathematician, nurse, chef, pilot, football player or referee.

  • have initial journalistic experience

  • possess a creative mind

  • demonstrate social media expertise

  • show the ability to work under deadlines and as part of a team.
