The Laurentian University Scholarships offer high-achieving international students with generous scholarships to reward their academic achievement and academic goals.
Both students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are eligible for the scholarships. Read more the eligibility requirements below.
Eligibilities:
To be considered for the Laurentian University Scholarship Canada, you must:
Meet your country-specific requirements, the faculty requirements for your chosen program, and language requirements.
For Nigerians, you will need to have a verifiable WASSCE results with C4 or higher grades, and English certificate is exempted.
Students with a prior degree are not eligible for the Laurentian University International Academic Excellence Scholarships.
To renew the scholarship, students must have studied full-time in the previous academic year (30 credits – of which 24 credits must have been taken in the Fall/Winter term) – (the academic year is defined as May to April of each year for scholarship purposes) and attained a minimum average of 80% (GPA = 7.5).
Graduate Applicants
Must possess a relevant bachelor’s degree to apply for postgraduate admissions.
NB: Some programs require graduate supervisors before you can apply.
Must be registered full time.
Masters are eligible for 2 years, Ph.D. are eligible for 4.
Need a B+ average to qualify (75%) for new Masters students.
Students will receive an email where they can fill out the application.
Benefits:
The Laurentine International Student Scholarships are up to $60,000 for academic achievement!
Undergraduate students are awarded up to $60,000 renewable at $15,000 per year upon satisfactory performance.
Graduate Scholarships
Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs) are available to qualified full-time International or Domestic students who meet the minimum average.
The awards are designated partially as employment and partially as a Fellowship.
The 2025-2026 value of the GTA is $10,034 for M.Sc. students and $14,547 for Ph.D. students.
