Summary:

Christy VanRooyen of Oregon Institute of Technology is seeking a Master's student interested in pollinator ecology.


The student will be examining how pollinator diversity, abundance, and floral resource use change in response to wetland restorations.


In collaboration with partner agencies and private landowners, he will monitor pollinator diversity and floral resource use as outlined in the National Protocol Framework for the Inventory and Monitoring of Bees and the Integrated Monarch Monitoring Program.


This research will enable effective land management practices from various restoration choices faced by land management agencies in the eastern Cascade ecoregion. 


Benefits:

The student will be paid as a teaching assistant with a $10,000 a year stipend and $7,000 in tuition remission.


Eligibilities:

To be considered for the Oregon Institute of Technology Scholarship, you must:

  •  have a degree in ecology, entomology, biology, or a related discipline and experience in data analysis using GIS and/or R.

  • have field experience.

  • have excellent English writing and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work with and lead a research team.
