The Queensland University of Technology Scholarship is a postgraduate research award for current and future postgraduate research students.

These QUT Postgraduate Research Award scholarships are awarded through QUT’s annual research scholarship round.

Benefits:

The Queensland University of Technology Scholarship covers the following;

An annual stipend paid fortnightly to support living costs. From 1 January 2026, the annual stipend rate is $37,010 per annum (currently $33,637 for 2025)
A maximum duration for the scholarship while undertaking a QUT PhD is 3.5 years and for a QUT MPhil is 1.75 years. This includes an extension of up to 6 months (PhD) or 3 months (MPhil), if approved for your candidature.
This is the full-time, tax-exempt rate, which will index annually.
You will receive a tuition fee offset/sponsorship, covering the cost of your tuition fees for the first 4 full-time equivalent years of your doctoral studies or the first 2 full-time equivalent years of your master's degree studies.
International students also receive Single Overseas Health Cover if eligible.

Eligibilities:

To be considered for the QUT Postgraduate Research Award, you must:

meet QUT’s admission criteria for a research degree, which includes meeting QUT’s English language requirements
not be in receipt of another living allowance scholarship to undertake the research degree
enrol as a full-time, internal student (unless approval for part-time and/or external study is obtained).
