Summary:
The University of Delaware (UD) is currently accepting applications for Master’s and Ph.D. research assistantships in multidisciplinary fields, including Food Engineering, Fresh Produce Processing & Microbiology, and Plasma Physics/Chemistry.
These positions will begin in Spring 2026 (domestic students) and Fall 2026 (domestic & international applicants).
Successful candidates will join the Department of Animal and Food Sciences (ANFS) in Newark, DE, with opportunities to conduct research in state-of-the-art facilities across Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Eligibilities:
To be considered for the University of Delaware Scholarship, you must meet the requirements below:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
GPA above 3.5 (undergraduate or graduate level)
For international students: TOEFL ≥ 95 or IELTS ≥ 6.5
Preferred Skills & Experiences
Strong GPA (3.7+ for undergraduate, 3.8+ for graduate studies)
Research experience in plasma physics, chemistry, or engineering
Programming knowledge (Python, R, MATLAB)
Numerical simulations with COMSOL or Ansys
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience with electronics, robotics, and AI/ML applications
Benefits:
Accepted graduate assistants will receive a competitive funding package, including:
Tuition waiver (2 years for Master’s, 4 years for Ph.D.)
Monthly stipend of approximately $3,000 (before tax)
