Summary:
A fully funded M.S. Graduate Assistantship is available at the Department of Biology, Utah State University, Logan, Utah.
The fully funded assistantship is an opportunity for intending international students to study in the USA, and covers tuition fees and living stipends.
The student will monitor squash bug (Anasa tristis) populations to better understand its biology in Utah. The candidate will also test several pest management strategies and/or survey for natural enemies.
The candidate will organize and assist in field studies, participate in extension education programs, prepare research and peer-reviewed publications, and present scientific findings at regional and national meetings.
Eligibilities:
To be considered for the Utah State University Scholarship, you must:
BS in entomology, biology, agronomy, or related field
Experience with field/greenhouse work are preferred
Experience working with insects
Experience or interest in working with growers and extension programs
Strong written and oral communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Fieldwork will be conducted 2-4 hours away from the main campus. Therefore, comfort with driving long distances is required.
Benefits:
The Utah State University Master's Scholarship is fully funded for two years, including;
stipend ($27,000/year),
tuition and fees, and
health insurance.
